Hjorth ends Ochoa’s LPGA winning streak

PRATTVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Maria Hjorth made a long birdie putt on the 17th hole and held on for her first LPGA Tour win since 1999 Sunday at the Navistar LPGA Classic, denying Lorena Ochoa’s bid for a fourth consecutive victory.

Galaxy overcome early deficit and beat Crew

The Galaxy (7-13-6) overcame a goal in the second minute by Alejandro Moreno and improved its chances of making the MLS Cup playoffs despite a poor start to the season and a stretch of eight losses in nine games in August and September.

Dynamo pull into 1st-place tie with 3-0 victory over FC Dallas

Dwayne De Rosario, Eddie Robinson and Stuart Holden scored goals and the Houston Dynamo defeated FC Dallas 3-0 on Sunday. Houston (14-7-6) pulled into a tie with Chivas USA for first-place in the Western Division with the win. FC Dallas (12-11-4) lost for the fifth time in its past seven games. The Dynamo went 3-0-1 against FC Dallas this season.
