The Atlanta Hawks tried on Golden State’s style of play and liked the fit. The Hawks set a season high with 70 first-half points, then held the usually high-scoring Warriors to 38 in the second half to beat the Warriors 115-94 on Wednesday night and cap Atlanta’s first winning month in almost three years.


Humphrey, No. 1 Florida rally past Vandy

The Florida Gators figure Lee Humphrey won’t be able to keep up this 3-point shooting pace. But as long as he does, he’s making it much easier for the defending national champions. Humphrey made five 3-pointers, including three straight to key a rally from a double-digit deficit, and the top-ranked Gators beat the 24th-ranked Commodores 74-64 on Wednesday night.

Oden’s presence helps Ohio State win

Biletnikoff retires as Raiders WR coach

Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff retired Wednesday as the Oakland Raiders’ wide receivers coach after spending more than three decades as a player and coach for the franchise. Biletnikoff, who is second in team history with 589 career catches, spent the past 18 seasons on the Raiders’ coaching staff, the last 10 as receivers coach.
