The satiric video posted on the Houston Chronicle’s Web site tries to answer the question of how long — or short — is 45 seconds. One reporter hovers nearby wielding a stopwatch as another poses a question to Texans quarterback Matt Schaub. Before Schaub can answer, the timer calls out, “And we’re done.” The two reporters dart away, leaving a puzzled Schaub to shrug his shoulders at the camera.

Dolphins WR Chambers arrested for DWI

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chris Chambers was arrested early Saturday on charges of driving while impaired and speeding. Chambers, 28, was arrested by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police around 2:30 a.m., several miles south of downtown, said police Capt. Lisa Goelz. He faces charges of driving while impaired, speeding, and reckless driving, she said.

Rams CB Fakhir Brown suspended 4 games

Rams cornerback Fakhir Brown was suspended Friday for the first four games next season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The league didn’t reveal the specific nature of the violation. Brown’s agent, Ted Marchibroda, didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment. Brown’s suspension will begin Aug.

Lions DT Rogers won’t face sex charges

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Shaun Rogers won’t face criminal charges following a review of an exotic dancer’s claims that he inappropriately touched her. A 20-year-old woman who dances at a club on Detroit’s west side made the complaint last month against the 6-foot-4, 345-pound Lions standout, claiming he entered her dressing room where she was changing.

Jags OT Barnes gets 6 months probation

Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Khalif Barnes has been sentenced to six months probation after pleading no contest to a drunken driving charge. Barnes, 25, pleaded no contest last week. Broncos WR Smith’s hip healing slowly

Rod Smith is letting his surgically repaired hip tell him when he’s ready to return to the field. Right now, it’s saying it’s not even close. The 37-year-old receiver, who had an operation on the hip in February, sat out the Broncos’ two-day minicamp. He’s yet to run post-surgery except briefly in a pool.

Raiders sign former Jaguars S Darius

The Oakland Raiders signed former Jacksonville safety Donovin Darius on Tuesday, bolstering a unit that was the strongest on the team during a difficult season last year. DUI charge against McNair dropped

A drunken driving charge against McNair was dropped  because a related DUI charge against Cartwright was bargained down to reckless driving. McNair was a passenger when Nashville police stopped his truck on May 9 for speeding, but McNair was charged because police said McNair allowed his vehicle to be driven by Cartwright, who was inebriated.

The drunken-driving charge against Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair was dropped Tuesday because a related DUI charge against his brother-in-law was reduced to reckless driving. “It’s good. I’m glad it’s over,” McNair said as he left the court room. When asked whether he would change how he handles himself when he goes out at night, McNair did not answer.


WR Stokley trying comeback with Broncos
